GOWER GOLF CLUB NEWS
GOLF LESSON FOR KIDS
17 June 2005
Nearly 100 pupils from schools across Swansea will get
the chance to try their hand at golf in the first event of its kind
on Monday.
They will be heading for Gower Golf Club, which is linking
up with Swansea Council's sports development officers and Gorseinon
College for the first Tri Golf Festival.
Six schools will take part in the non-competitive mini-golf
festival which starts at 10am. Council sports development officer
Steve Lancey said: "Not many
young people have the opportunity to play golf, especially at a
first-class course so this is a really good opportunity for them
to have a go".
"Hopefully, the young people will enjoy the
experience and go along to the golf club regularly. It will
also be a good experience for the golf academy students to demonstrate
their coaching skills after
completing the Tri Golf
course.
"Hopefully, this will be the first of many
tri-golf festivals to be
run across the city."
